A living room set consisting of three pieces, one coffee,one end and a sofa table. The Expocho Series features silver maple, naturally spalted, figured, slab tops. All three table were made from the same slab of wood. Beneath the 2-1/4″ thick tops solid white ash base’s finished in a exquisite espresso shade, that supports and highlights the surface area’s. An L-Shaped couch with a day bed on one side give inspiration for the size, shape, and coloring for each of the three pieces.

The coffee table designed first out of the series set the stage for the other two.  Well supported a five leg design configured to the shape of the top.  This allowed us to place a dovetailed drawer on the day bed side of the couch. A nice place to store remotes, magazines, or whatever your heart desire’s. Constructed with unique sliding dovetail techniques make this piece every sturdy and one of the things making it a true one of a kind.

The remaining off fall from the coffee tables slab left extra for a sofa and end table.  The sofa table was the first to be made of the three.  Looking to produce a light airy feel to contrast and conform to the stout coffee table. An interesting elliptical shape made for the sofa tables top, were a three leg design derived.  This design is made to back up to a solid surface. Of course the end table was made to match the sofa table and that’s how the process worked out.  All three have some different joinery techniques do to the uncommon shapes and angles.  All in all these three were made for the Poch family’s living room, to match the couch and its espresso finished legs, hence “Expocho series”.
